Northern Mockingbird
Very animated, both male and female perform elaborate mating dances by facing each other, heads and tails erect. They run towards each other, flashing white wings patches, then retreat to nearby cover. Known to imitate other birds, called vocal mimicry, hence its common name. Young males often sing at night.
