Christmas Birdwatching In Florida
Christmas in Florida was fantastic.
Of course, it’s a little odd for someone from Massachusetts to celebrate Christmas with 80 degrees outside, wearing shorts and T-shirs and watching people swimming in the ocean and in the outside pools.
Lately, birdwatching in Massachusetts has been significantly limited by migration. The list of stay home birds has shrunk to our local die-hards that decided to stay in the cold weather. The rest got together and flew down to the southern states. Florida is one of them.
Unlike us who came to spent holidays to Florida for the first time, the birds didn’t act surprised by warm weather and absence of snow in December.
They do these migration trips every year and obviously got a kick when we arrived to the airport in Jacksonville wearing warm jackets and sweaters.
– He-he-he, – the birds cheered me with a welcome chirp of the their own.
There was a lot to watch in the birds’ world and I did have a few photo sessions here.
Here goes just a short preview of the animals and birds photos made in Jacksonville area.
Some of the guys are local and stay here all year around. Some might look familiar to the ones featured in the previous publications of Chidlovski Blog Chidlovski – the ones who have their “condos-n-shares” in the south.
