August 6, 1978, Edmonton, Canada – 23-year old light heavyweight Robert Kabbas of Team Australia wins a gold medal in the 82.5kg class at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton.
It was 40 years ago and it was the first medal won by Robert Kabbas at the Commonwealth Games. In his career, he won two golds (Edmonton 1978 and Brisbane 1982) and a silver medal (Edinburgh, 1986) at the Commonwealth Games.
