Two World Records by Jaan Talts (HIC)

August 1, 1967 – 23-year old Jaan Talts of Estonia sets two new world records in the 90kg weight class at the 1967 USSR Spartakiade.
Talts won his first gold medal at the USSR championships and broke two world records that night in Moscow. He cj’d 193.5kg and did the total of 502,5kg.
A year later he became an Olympic champion in Munich.
Party lovers of all countries might mark the new date in their calendars – it’s going to be the 50th anniversary of this double records night in August!
