Unlike Everybody Else
Unlike any other North American birds, bobolinks wear so called “tuxedo backwards”.
Male bobolinks wear their breeding plumage upside down. They have white rump and scapulars and black underparts.
It looks very different to all other species around.
We saw this fella who doesn’t mind to be odd in the meadow area of the Belle Isle marches.
He greeted is with his cheerful bob-o-link song and wished us a happy birdwatching weekend!
