Birds Infographics: The Epaulets Insignia

Have you ever watched the Red-Winged Blackbirds?

Their males are loud and glossy broad-shouldered warriors with distinct red-and-yellow shoulder badges.  These badges are also called “epaulets”. They signify the strength and importance of the  Red-Winged Blackbirds.

We did a study of the spicy and concluded that male Red-Winged Blackbirds actually patterned the ranking by the DOD in their epaulets gear.
