Saeed Salem Jaber, Qatar

One of the most powerful superheavyweights of the late 1990s Saeed Salem Jaber (formerly known as Yani Marchokov) was part of a $ 1,000,000 deal between Bulgaria and Qatar that brought top notch international competitors to Qatar. Shifting between different national teams was one of the pecularities of the 1990s. Former Bulgarian nationals represented Team Qatar, former Albanian and Georgian competed for Greece and mighty Team CCCP was split into 15 nations at the IWF tournaments. The footage features Saeed Salem Jaber competing for the gold medal in the superheavyweight class at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. The quest for gold brought Qatari lifter the 4th place.
