I trained with Paul Goldberg at the Newark NJ ymca. another training Partner was Floyd Despirito. paul was sr. national champ in 1959 and 1961 in the 148lb. class. he taught me Olympic lifting. We were on the us weightlifting team for the maccabiah games in isreal ion 1961. paul won gold at 148. Iplaced 2nd in hvwt. Other team members were Isaac Berger, Gary Gubner, Dick Giller, Paul Ash,and Jay Siegal. coach was Dave Mayor. I have pictures of Paul with the team , but no action pics. Worked out with Paul at the Bates Barbell Club, NJ around 1960... Very strong Guy... Watched him clean & jerk 310 # at the Newark, NJ YMCA contest....not bad... Since the world record was 339 1/2 #......
