Alexander Volchkov was a solid above-average forward from the mighty Red Army Club. As a CSKA youth program graduate, Volchkov played most of his career for the strongest Soviet team of all times. Volchkov was a steady third-liner that made occasional appearances in Team USSR international games. Volchkov was known as a very strong physical player able to play equally reliable on various positions.
