"The first game of the series made me think of when I was a little boy playing against men on the outdoor rinks in Peterborough. They were too fast, too strong and there was nothing we could do about it."

Mickey Redmond
Team Canada # 24

One of the top guns of the Detroit Red Wings at the time of the Summit, Mickey Redmond was known for his sharp-shooting talent and skating speed. Although he wasn't the most reliable player in his own zone, Redmond had several impressive scoring seasons in the NHL. His professional hockey career was relatively short due to several serious injuries. Redmond's undeniable ability to score made him a nice addition to the Canadian squad in 1972.
